Frequently Asked Questions
What do we need to wear or bring to a session?
For outdoor locations, I would suggest wearing something in neutral or earthy tones without too many distracting patterns, something that you are comfortable in. I am here to assist with outfit advice for your session - think about how you want your family to be captured and what the images will be used for. Some families like to have images in smart casual attire for slightly more formal images to frame on the wall and others like to wear casual everyday attire for more relaxed, candid images - especially for images around the home.
For newborns, I would suggest including something sentimental like a blanket or throw. I usually photograph your newborn to capture tiny details in their bassinet (especially if it is a special one), on a large bed or in a baby lounger which I can bring along with me.
We will discuss what outfits and style of images you prefer prior to your session and you will receive an email with all the information you need, but please feel free to ask me any questions you have at any time.
Where are you based and do you travel?
I'm based on the North Shore in Auckland but I am happy to travel within 30mins from Albany, North Shore for any session. I usually suggest having the session in your home or at a local park, beach or forest that is sentimental to you. Sessions outside of this distance or outside of Auckland are possible, but would require a travel charge - contact me for more information.
When will we get our photos?
You will receive an online gallery via email with your photos within three weeks of the session. You can download the photos from the gallery to print or frame as you wish.
How many photographs are included and how will we receive them?
Each package includes a minimum number of high resolution edited digital images, presented in an online gallery. The link to your gallery will be sent to you via email for you to download the images.
Can I order prints or framed photos straight from the online gallery I receive?
Soon you will be able to order prints in different sizes directly from the gallery.
What style of photographs will you take?
My style is capturing authentic, natural family moments - which can include your pets too! We will discuss the style you would like prior to the session - I am flexible so if you are wanting more classic or creative photos I can do this for you. If you have a specific photo in mind that you love then we can re-create something similar during the session for you.
Is it suitable for someone who is not confident in front of a camera?
If you aren't confident in front of a camera that is absolutely okay, all my sessions are very relaxed in an environment you feel comfortable in - we will just spend some time together and have some fun. I focus on capturing candid moments, without the awkward posing - you won't even feel like I am taking photographs.
